“For you love all things that are and loathe nothing that you have made; for you would not fashion what you hate. How could a thing remain, unless you willed it; or be preserved, had it not been called forth by you? But you spare all things, because they are yours, O Ruler and Lover of souls, for your imperishable spirit is in all things!” WISDOM 11:24-26 New American Bible (Revised Edition) |
U.S. Archbishop Tells Transgender Catholic:
|
Outreach 2020, the LGBTQ Catholic Ministry Conference, was scheduled to be held in June 2020 at Fordham University in New York City. The Covid-19 pandemic forced the conference’s postponement until next year. I was so looking forward to being a part of this conference and sharing together with other LGBTQ Catholics from around the world.
While we couldn't gather together in person this year, several of the conference’s speakers and panelists offer messages of support and encouragement to their LGBTQ Catholic friends and those who minister with them. |
Included in this video are: James Martin, SJ; Ish Ruiz; Sister Luisa Derouen, OP; Archbishop John C. Wester; Jason Steidl, Ph.D.; Shiva Subbaraman; John Cecero, SJ; Megan Fox-Kelly; James Alison; Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv.; Aaron Bianco; Sister Edith Prendergast, RSC; Fr. Greg Greiten; Fr. Bryan Massingale; JR Zerkowski; Kathy Farrell; Timothy Radcliffe, OP; Fr. Eddie De Leon; Shelly Fitzgerald; Marianne Palacios; Sister Jeannine Gramick, SL; and Craig Ford, Ph.D.
I encourage you to watch this great video. It accidentally lists me as being from St. Bernadette Parish in Minneapolis, MN, rather than Milwaukee, WI; however, don't worry, I know where I live and where I minister. I proud to be a part of both St. Bernadette Parish and Our Lady of Good Hope Parish in Milwaukee, WI. |

London’s Mirror newspaper reported that during an audience at the Vatican with several entertainers, Pope Francis told one of them: “Giving more importance to the adjective [gay] rather than the noun [man], this is not good. We are all human beings and have dignity. It does not matter who you are, or how you live your life – you do not lose your dignity." “There are people that prefer to select or discard people because of the adjective. These people don’t have a human heart.” |
